What is Windows Credential Manager in Windows?

It’s a tool or a feature of Windows that stores all passwords and sign-in information which you have used anywhere in Windows. It includes Microsoft Edge, Apps, and network shares. That said, it is not new and has been there for a very long time. Read about the Credentials Manager and Windows Vault here. Also, this post will show you how to import and export passwords in Microsoft Edge.

Can you Edit the Web-based password in Credential Manager?

While you can add, backup, restore Windows Credentials, there is no way to add or edit Web Credentials. Microsoft recently enumerated the changes it incorporated in Password Policy and Autocomplete Forms in Microsoft Edge and Internet Explorer, to reduce the confusion in users about their passwords being recalled on one site but not another. Check this post to see how to Manage Passwords in Microsoft Edge.

How to stop Credential Manager from saving Credential?

This can be achieved through Group Policy.
